The Joy of Giving

Water colour on paper
14" x 10"
The joy of Giving is something one has to experience, it cannot be explained. Giving need not be always related to money or things, a simple heartfelt smile, a pat on the back or just a wave also sends a lot of warmth.
There are only two conditions though, one it should come from the Heart and two, should be without expectations. Only then true "Giving" can be achieved.

Soooo Simple

Water Colour on paper 16" x 11"

Simple, beautiful, carefree, healthy and loving life.
Do the children need Video games? Television? Mall visits? I don't think so... Probably the grown ups need all these and they hide behind the poor kids.
All the kids need is our time and love.

Waterfall

Oil on 12" x 16" Canvas Panel

Knife painting automatically makes me move away from getting the painting near the reality. I rather enjoy painting with the freeness which I get by using the Knife.
Here I have tried to get the atmosphere of a cool late afternoon in the painting. You may be able to hear the divine silence with which God created our beautiful planet.
Enjoy ;-)

Perfect Setting

Water colour on Paper
16" x 11"
Some days just start right ..... all day long you feel great and they also have just a perfect setting to end a gorgeous day.
Such a setting with peace, beauty and love all around. Just feels like sitting without doing anything and letting everything sink in. Enjoy

Need of Hour

Water colour on paper
14" x 10"
The Summer starts and already March is heating up as if it is early May.....
So this is the "Need of the hour" ;-) How lucky to go off to a serene spot and have a dip or two in the cold water.
Unfortunately I cannot go but I can paint ;-)

Fort

Water colour on paper
14" x 10"
Imagine some hundreds of years ago, when Chattrapati Shivaji Maharaj might have treaded these steps. I am sure at that time he was thinking about the problems which he had to face that day or in the near future.
I think many many times.... after seeing the state of his empire right now.... would he have done the same?
If he had known at that time that this is what the state of His empire going to be after just 400 years, would he have laid his life?
And many times the answer I get from HIM is "YES"..... and that is why HE is GREAT

Lunch Break

Lunch Break
March 2012 - 12
Water colour on paper
16" x 11"

After some grueling work this couple sits in the shade for a modest lunch of Indian Bread, some onions and green pepper. Their small child is sleeping peacefully, even in the heat as the mother has already taken care of him before having her share.
Such sights are very common everywhere. We see people just working their hearts out to earn a little bit everyday just to keep the fire burning..... the fire of life.
Salute to all those men and women...... and unfortunately also children

ही वाट दूर जाते ..... स्वप्ना मधील गावा
(The path goes far and beyond to the place in my dreams)

A beautiful poem written by Shant Shelke, sung by the evergreen Asha Bhosle and music by Pandit Hrudaynaath Mangeshkar (ofcourse)

Just started with a splash in the sky and the painting developed.... finally the path created itself as if for the song....

The sea always Enchants me, Mesmerizes me and Calls me and thus when I cannot be there I tend to recall those lovely memories by flirting with the paints.

Tabla

Water Colour on Paper
19" x 14"

The Tabla is a beautiful percussion instrument in the Indian Music. The Hindustani Classical Music has two standard notation systems, viz. Pandit Bhatkhande and Pandit Paluskar notation system. The same notation system is used for noting the Tabla.

Tabla in India has been immortalized by Ustads like Ustad Alla Rakha Khan and Ustad Zakir Hussain.
